How can I safely whiten my teeth?
Tooth whitening is one of the simplest and most impactful kinds of cosmetic dentistry available today. At our office, we offer two convenient methods, including Zoom!, our in-office treatment that is clinically proven to whiten your teeth by eight shades within 45 minutes. If an at home treatment is more convenient for you, we also offer treatment plans which you can do at home or during your commute. Depending upon your dental health and cause of discoloration, we'll help you determine which treatment would benefit you most.
Please reference Our Services for more information.

I brush everyday, but my breath is still not fresh. Is there anything I can do?
Disorders and diseases of the oral cavity may cause up to 90% of all cases of halitosis, commonly referred to as “bad breath.” Some of the most common causes are: a dry mouth due to lack of flow of saliva during sleep, denture wearing, food retention, poor oral hygiene, dental decay, gingivitis, gum disease, an unclean tongue, alcohol consumption, and smoking. Most of these factors cause an increase in bacteria in the oral cavity, resulting in bad breath.
To help combat this sometimes embarrassing problem, Dr. Teichman and his staff will work with you to create a personalized home treatment program, including conventional tooth brushing and flossing, daily irrigation of the oral tissues and regular cleaning and brushing of the tongue. Depending on the severity of your problem and the cause, we may also recommend an oral rinse available only through dental professionals.

What different payment options do you provide?
We offer several types of payment options: cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. If you desire to set up an easy payment plan for more extensive work, we encourage you to obtain the Care Credit Plan to help you pay for treatments and procedures your insurance does not cover. You may also create a payment plan with our office. When you come in for your consultation, we’ll discuss your payment preferences as they pertain to your particular treatment plan options.
Please reference our Financing section for more information.

I really don’t like visiting the dentist. Is there anything you can do to help me relax?
We understand that patients may be nervous when visiting the dentist. In order to make your visit as pleasant as possible, we aim to create a relaxing atmosphere. First, our entire staff is trained to be alert and aware of your concerns. Second, we've included a number of entertaining distractions to help you enjoy yourself during your treatment including watching your favorite television show on LCD digital flat screen TVs or listening to your favorite music. Third, for complex or lengthy procedures, we can provide nitrous oxide and anesthetics for your comfort and relaxation. The happiness of our patients is our primary concern and we will be glad to discuss any concerns at your first appointment.

Sometimes my gums bleed when I brush my teeth. Should I be concerned?
Bleeding gums should never be ignored. Depending on the source and severity of the problem, however, professional treatment may not be necessary. Bleeding gums can be caused by improper, rough, "scrubbing" of your teeth instead of gentle, circular brushing motions; using a hard-bristled tooth brush instead of a soft one; plaque and/or tartar build-up below the gum line; or gum sensitivity due to gingivitis or periodontal disease.
If your problem persists despite correct brushing and flossing methods, or occurs every time you brush, it's likely due to the development of gum disease. To prevent the worsening of your condition, we recommend you schedule an evaluation appointment with Dr. Teichman. Dr. Teichman and his staff specialize in helping patients successfully treat most stages of gum disease through the use of painless non-surgical gum care procedures.
